I started work on June 21, after comming back from a 2 week vacation in boston. I went to visit my friend Kayla for her graduation party since she graduated from college and had a wonderfull time. I was sad to leave but knew that had to start work. I work at my local court as a bilingual interpreter since i’m in the process of becoming court certified. My goal is to use this as a means to work for the government eventually. everything was great and i was able to get along with the staff at the court. The good insentive is that i get paid to do the job. Some days are busier than others, but when i’m not busy, i work at the reception desk helping staff members take calls and other stuff.
One thursday I arrive to work at around 9:15 Am and i heard the judge so i decide to stop by his office as usual to talk and to request that i get assistance clocking in since i can’t work the clock with the punch card. I enter the office and said, “hello judge, how are you? any plans for the weekend?” Little did i know that he was in the middle of doing the wedding vows with a couple. then they started taking pictures as i was sitting in the office waiting for another opportunity to interrupt the process, but the judge went on to allow the couple to give each other their rings. I withness each other being romantic and felt awkward mostly because I didn’t know if they were filming or not.
I sat there until another lady said, “what are you doing here?” he’s doing a wedding.” and i said, “oh, ok I didn’t know.” “I was waiting to get clocked in and find the designated desk.” so I went with the other lady to clock in since it’s hard for me to use the punch cards being blind. The thing is that i felt very awkward and a bit embarrassed at the same time. i hope that i’m not in those photos. lol.
